I have an extensive background working on a wide variety of career topics including career direction, grad school, job search and applications and interviews. I have listed the most popular topics here but, if you are interested in a career topic that you don't see listed here, please feel free to ask! I have worked with high school students, college and university students, mid-career professionals, and academics.

All of the packages below can be provided as workshops (groups of 10 or more) or individual, private appointments. I am available selected daytime and evening hours and appointments can be conducted in person or remotely.

For Students & Applicants

Meds 101
Are you a high school or early university student thinking about medical school in the future? Learn how to start preparing today to increase your chances of success down the road. (1-hour workshop)

Private appointments - many applicants tend to use approximately 1 hour of individual assistance on this topic including pre-requisites, application overview, MCAT planning, strategic volunteering, and information interviews.

Applying to Meds
For those applying this year or soon. Detailed information and guidance on the application pieces including strategy related to GPA/MCAT scores; writing short answers; assessing "clusters"; autobiographical sketch; CaSPER; references and how to re-group to apply again (as most applicants must do). (2-hour workshop)

Private appointments - many applicants tend to use 3-5 hours for strategy and reference advice, plus review of autobiographical sketch/CV and mini essays/short answers/detailed sketch.

Medical School Interviews
Learn about and prepare for the incredibly variety of medical school questions as well as the different types of interview formats including the most common MMI, panel, and one-to-one. (2-hour workshop)

Private appointments - many applicants tend to use 3 hours for strategy advice along with a couple of mock interviews with feedback.

Applying to Residency
Still recovering from the trauma of applying to get into medical school? Let me help you survive and thrive during the CaRMS match. Information and one-to-one assistance with application strategy (how many? which specialties?), personal letters, CVs, CaRMS form, references. (2 hour workshop)

Private appointments - many applicants use up to 4 hours for strategy advice and review of CV, CaRMS form and personal letters.

Residency Interviews
While you're travelling around the country visting programs, I can help you feel calmer about the conversations you'll have once you finally arrive at your destination. Learn about what questions to expect, how to prepare for them, how to connect authentically with programs that aren't your first choice, how to deal with impertinent or illegal questions, and learn from the common concerns of many medical students. (2-hour workshop)

Private appointments - many applicants spend approximately 2-4 hours with me working on interview strategies and doing a couple of mock interviews and getting feedback.

For Advisors & Student Groups

Do you work with high school or university students who are thinking about medical school in the future? Are you a career or academic advisor, high school guidance counsellor, student success staffer, undergraduate or graduate assistant, residence life team member, or pre-med group executive?

Seminars to help your students can be provided in 2-hour or 3-hour formats and are suitable for high school students, university undergraduate and graduate students.

What I do is an investment in your future, so it's important that you understand how I work. I use my experience with hiring and admissions to assist you to understand the other sides of the equation you're facing. I will also help you to harness your potential so that you can portray yourself authentically but positively. I hope that my work is helpful to applicants and advsiors, not "gimmicky" and also not unfair to medical schools, who are trying to assess the best candidates. More than anything, I want medical schools to get great, HONEST candidates and I want candidates to have the best chance, without tripping up on something that is really not about their future potential as a medical student.
